Ulrich Stockheim
Founder & Managing Director of USC
30 years of experience in journalism, consulting, and corporate leadership
Ulrich Stockheim has more than three decades of experience working with the media, companies, and the public. Today, he advises CEOs, owners, managing directors, and public figures on their communications and public presence. Internationally active companies are among the clients of USC, which operates from offices in Cologne and Munich.
A graduate in economics, Stockheim began his career as an editor at Das Wertpapier, a publication of the German Association for the Protection of Shareholders (DSW). In 1993, he joined CAPITAL magazine, then Europe’s most widely read business publication. Stockheim worked as a financial journalist, opened CAPITAL’s first U.S. bureau in New York, and reported from the U.S. until mid-1999. After returning to Germany, he served as Managing Director of DSW’s publishing arm until 2002.
In 2003, Stockheim launched his own business – founding Stockheim Media GmbH, which he merged in 2011 with the College Group, based in London. The group was renamed Instinctif Partners in 2014, and Stockheim concluded his role as a member of its Executive Committee in 2015. From 2015 to 2020, he served as Chief Communications Officer and a member of the executive board at AGCO, a publicly traded Fortune 500 company (brands include Fendt and Massey Ferguson), headquartered in Georgia, USA. After returning to Germany, he founded USC – Ulrich Stockheim Communications.
Ulrich Stockheim brings a unique perspective: he understands editorial thinking, the dynamics of public discourse, and the pressure leaders face behind closed doors. Communication is not a parallel universe. It is an essential part of business reality. Whether it’s CEO positioning, crisis communication, strategic transformation, or personal setbacks – Stockheim and the USC team provide clients with an independent external perspective, strategic insight, and the ability to be present in the moments that matter.
That the founder of USC ultimately has all relevant issues on the radar and can act quickly and flexibly when necessary is made possible by USC’s unique and highly professional team.
